World Wide Sires Australia is proud
to be able to deliver a truly global selection of young sires to
be tested here in Australia. The main focus of our young sire program
centres around young bulls standing in Australia sourced from the
very best cow families in the county. In addition the program is
complimented by international young sires from the world's most
recognisable cow family's right across Europe and North America
that will be sampled along side our domestic pedigrees.
The aim, or philosophy, of our young sire program is to provide farmers
with the type of bulls that they want to use. By this I mean bulls that
come from cow families that have consistently delivered generations of
high producing, functional cows that rank at the very top of their respective
herds. We know that not every bull tested is going to be able to graduate
to our proven sire line-up, however we would like to think that all of
the daughters by our bulls can become valuable contributors towards your
herds future regardless of whether their sire graduated or not.
The selection process is centred around finding pedigrees which combine
high ranking sires that compliment the individual bull dam for both type
and production, as opposed to number stacking (using just the latest
and greatest bull of the moment over the highest index cow). Depth of
cow family can never be underestimated and a good cow is never too old,
or young to become a bull mother for the future.
For the selection of future bull teams I would like to hear from any
one who thinks they have, or know of, a cow family that fits the above
philosophy. While the proven and well known cow families are always of
interest I believe that there are a lot of cow families out there that
know one but their owners has ever heard of. Many of these families have
the potential to add something to the wider population and our best chance
of future genetic diversity may well come from the introduction of new
cow families as opposed to the "ever illusive" outcross sire.
